AirIndia Express: Flying Made Easy

Kyoorius Young Blood First List 2024

Indians consider flying a painful process. Air India wanted to change this perception with their belief of ‘Fly as your are.’ They wanted this integrated in a cohesive design narrative that binds India’s rich cultural tapestry with functionality across various touch points in a guest’s journey.

Our brand refresh for Air India Express whispers comfort and sings diversity. We used patterns provided in the brief which were specific to every state and culture to weave them together as a a visual treat.

Easy for travel,

Easy on the eyes

Express for you.

That’s AirIndia

Loyalty Kit

The loyalty kit had to act like a breath of fresh air for our frequent flyers, and something to remember AIX by. The idea is to work with local artisans and handicrafts all over the country to get these Indian treasures for this kit. The hand selected items and the box would be 100% sustainable, embodying the spirit of India.

These artisans narrate the tales of India through their craft every day—it's time to bring their stories to the forefront.

Thankyou Note

Items fashion stitched and printed patterns from different states including Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh, Kanjeevaram from Tamil Nadu, Kasavu from Kerala, Banarasi from Uttar Pradesh and Ajrakh from Gujarat.

We also collaborate with Manam, an Indian chocolate brand whose story aligns with ours on celebrating the local flavours of India. These limited edition chocolate bars display proudly the state-wise patterns.

Overview: Loyalty Kit

Queue Tops

The existing Queue tops were overloaded with information and lacked a clear hierarchy along inconsistent font sizes/ colour treatments

The new design seeks to establish a clear yet dynamic system that can effectively accommodate information of varying sizes. It recommends two styles based on the priority of the Queue tops.

Packaging & In Flight Menu Card

Gourmair provides in-flight food services to a lot of other flights apart from Air India Express. We thought of this as a collaboration between the two with Air India being in the front and center. The patterns present themselves beautifully in the background here.

Boarding Pass

Currently, the boarding pass features only the brand logo on AIX Orange. However, with Akasa, a direct competitor, also using orange, the color alone is no longer distinctive for our brand.

We believe enhancing the orange with additional character and incorporating shades of white will set the brand apart from its competitors along with humour with the help of copy.

Website UI:

Our website is designed for no-nonsense flyers, focusing on a clean and clutter-free experience. We’ve seamlessly integrated subtle patterns to create a harmonious look and feel, showcasing India’s beauty with carefully curated images for each section.
